How I wrote my essay
- Took a point from my Speech and Debate… speech about how our government is fucked (Draft 1.0)
- Drafted a 4 page essay about how the executive branch of the United States government was too powerful (Draft 2.0)
- Heavily revised it and added a conclusion, bringing it to 5.25 pages. (Draft 2.5)
- Realized that that essay didn’t address the prompt enough (too much history and not enough current events)
- Took a point from the second draft (the National Defense Authorization Act that gives the president to jail American citizens forever without trial) and turned that into a third essay (Draft 3.0)
- Made it a final 3-page draft it with revisions from Yvonne (Draft 3.3)
- Bitched on AIM and Tumblr about how I now have an entire 5.25 page essay I can’t use.
